February 2010 - PCF School Trip
On February 22 2010, 31 children along with 15 adults from Gawad
Kalinga's Ancop Sibol School enjoyed their first day trip to the
Bio Research learning center and aquarium in Metro Manila. The
entire trip was kindly donated by Padua Charitable Fund members
who visited the school and met with the children earlier this
year.

bird talk at the center's outdoor aviary.
It was a full day of excitement for all involved. School teacher
Cherry, along with her aide Blanca, prepared an excellent schedule
for her pupils. A Philippine jeepney and SUV brought the children
and adults to the location where the class were able to experience
and see for the first first time many animals, insects and marine
life including tropical fish, turtles, bees, birds, butterflies
and much more! Lunch was also a new treat - Happy Meals from Jolibee!
Crossing the bridge to see the turtles and
viewing the various sea creatures.
The day was a huge success and will remain with them for a very
long time. The children were extremely inspired and continued
to learn from their experience for many days back in the classroom.
All went home very tired and happy with a goldfish as a souvenir!
Goldfish in hand and learning about bees!
